I remember many hikes we made up to see Thunderbird Falls. One year in the late 1950's my Aunt Laura Jean and my mother took up a hammock and hung it between two trees. I guess they planned the whole day up there and wanted to be comfortable. A neighbor of ours had the job of stocking the picnic area with wood and he would take a bunch of us to help. I remember the long hill going back up.....very steep and difficult for me. I went with Mike in 1982....took lots of pictures....he wanted to know why....because I am never making this hike again!
