Click to enlarge photo.The mountain at the top is Pioneer Peak about 30 miles down the Old Glen Highway from our place. The snow you see is where the the slide occurred during the 1964 Earthquake. A women, living below the slide heard the rumble, put her kids in the car and backed out of her driveway just in time as the slide took her house and a swath of tree down to the Knik River.
The mountain on the bottom is Bear Mountain or otherwise know as "Our Mountain" My family lived in front of it for 34 years.
