The above is a Walmart casket that sells for $995.00.I have always been for inexpensive funerals. To my surprise, I discovered that Costco and Walmart carry very nice caskets - made of steel - for under $1000.00! The other thing is the cost of flowers that lay on the casket. I knew of someone who paid $500.00 for the spray on the casket and the flowers were buried with the casket. Wow! I only want a white iris on mine. One way Funeral homes charges can be eliminated is to hold the service in a church. You may have to pay for about eight death certificates which will cost you around $50.00. You will need the certificates. These are a few ideas for keeping the cost down.
